1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. It lets the site remember your actions and preferences across sessions. We also use similar technologies like local storage and SDK identifiers inside the Go Buddy app.
2. Cookies we use
Strictly necessary
Required for the website to function — they cannot be disabled. These include session cookies that keep you signed in, anti-CSRF tokens, and load-balancing cookies.
Functional
Remember your preferences (language, region, theme). Disabling these will reset your preferences on every visit but will not break the site.
Analytics
Help us understand which pages are visited, on which devices, and which paths users take. We use first-party analytics only — data does not leave our infrastructure and is aggregated within 24 hours.
3. Cookies we do not use
- Advertising cookies — Go Buddy does not run programmatic ads or remarketing.
- Third-party trackers — we do not embed pixels or tags from social networks or data brokers.
- Cross-device tracking — we do not link your browser to other devices outside the Go Buddy app.
4. Managing your preferences
You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies through their settings — see the help pages of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge. Note: blocking strictly necessary cookies may break sign-in.
5. In-app storage
The Go Buddy mobile app stores a session token, your last known location (for faster ride matching), and your preferences on the device. You can clear this data via Profile → Settings → Clear local data.
6. Changes
If we change how cookies are used, we will update this page and reset the consent banner. Continued use after the update constitutes acceptance.
