1. Who we are
Go Buddy Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (“Go Buddy”, “we”, “us”) is registered in Gurugram, India. We operate the Go Buddy ride-sharing platform, the Go Buddy app, and gobuddy.com. We are the data controller for the information described below.
2. Information we collect
From every user
- Account details — name, gender, date of birth, email address, mobile number.
- Government ID — uploaded during verification to enforce the Buddy System matching.
- Device information — model, OS version, app version, IP address, approximate location.
- Communication records — in-app support chats and ride-related calls.
During a ride
- Precise location — pickup, drop-off, and live route data for safety monitoring.
- Helmet telemetry — air-quality readings from the AI Smart Helmet (no audio or video is captured).
- Trip metadata — fare, payment method, ride duration, driver and rider IDs.
3. How we use your data
- To verify identity and enforce strict same-gender matching.
- To monitor active rides for safety and dispatch SOS support when triggered.
- To investigate safety incidents and enforce our zero-tolerance policy.
- To process payments and provide customer support.
- To improve the platform — only after aggregating and de-identifying data.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell your data. We share it only with:
- Drivers and riders — limited to the information required to complete a ride (first name, rating, vehicle details).
- Service providers — payment processors, SMS gateways, cloud infrastructure (all bound by data protection agreements).
- Law enforcement — only when required by valid legal process or when a safety threat requires immediate action.
5. Data retention
Trip and helmet telemetry are retained for 90 days for safety review, then automatically deleted. Identity verification records are retained for the lifetime of your account and securely destroyed within 30 days of account closure unless required by law to retain longer.
6. Your rights
- Access a copy of your personal data via Profile → Privacy → Export my data.
- Correct inaccurate details from your profile screen.
- Delete your account from Profile → Settings → Delete account.
- Withdraw consent for non-essential analytics at any time.
7. Security
We encrypt data at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). Access to production systems is least-privilege and audit-logged. Helmet firmware is signed and verified at boot.
8. Children
Go Buddy is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. If you believe a minor has registered, contact support@gobuddyservice.com and we will remove the account.
9. Changes to this policy
Material changes will be notified via in-app banner at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
